History

1948 Georg Pieper initially founded the then one-man company on train station land at Siedlinghausen. He traded residual wood and manufactured pitwood.

1954 Construction of the first factory floor on new factory premises “Under Iberg” in Siedlinghausen.

1960 Launching of the first Impregnation Plant for Pressure Impregnation.

1967/68 Development of the roundwood site, building of a large long distance lorry garage with maintenance garage.

1975/76 Building of a sawmill with roundwood processing plant in the industrial area of Schlade, Siedlinghausen.

1982 Opening and development of the present premises at Olsberg-Assinghausen, relocating both plants.

1984/1985 Start of production in small dimensioned wood – chipping machine, sawmill, fully automatic trimming plant, impregnation plant as an alternative and pressure impregnating plant, milling, removing bark and planing plants, as well as a modern equipped workshop for the production of external timber.

1988 Establishment of Pieper Holz GmbH

1990 Expansion of the production of playground equipment with the development of a new modular system for children’s play equipment. Planning and construction were made available on modern computers.

1991 Manual packaging of square edge wood in the sawmill was in certain parts replaced by an automatic stacking unit.

1999 Expansion of the roundwood sorting plant and construction of an integrated, fully automatic trimming sorter.

2004 Completion of two chamber driers and a 500kW wood chip heating system.


2005 Pieper Holz with its approx. 60 employees has become one of the most modern wood processing industries in Germany in the work of small dimensioned wood, in the design of external wood for gardens, parks, landscaping as well as the production of chidren’s play equipment and playground equipment.

26. July 2005 The sawmill production plant and roundwood division were destroyed in a fire. The sawmill production and trimming plant were reconstructed in accordance with the newest and most modern angles. The reconstruction allowed the company to be more effective in meeting demands from the worldwide business market.
