The wide ascents are wheel-chair accessible and just like the slide are big enough for the disabled and an accompanying carer. The structure is designed to allow for slow ascent, which at every point guarantees a safe grip (eg. a blind person). Of course the spacious ascent also appeals to other children (eg. for spacious running games).
